Problems using the Net in Segamat
There are a few reasons your Internet connection gets disrupted. This is possible with
either Jaring or TMNet (our local ISP's). You will experience very slow connections to
sites that are normally fast or you are disconnected frequently.
1) The Telekom line is noisy
If you hear "crackling" noise when you pick up the phone then this is a line
problem. You need to contact Kedai Telekom in Jalan Awang, Segamat and report the fault.
Another person you can call is this helpful person there, En. Yahya Shari at 9333200. My
experience is that they can rectify this problem within 24 hours. Their service is pretty
good.
Another possibility is that your internal phone wiring and
connectors are defective. Please check this also as it will affect your surfing too.
2) The site you are viewing is slow
There is nothing much you can do about this as this is under the control of the site's
servers as well as their local ISP. You can however send email to the respective webmaster
to report difficulty you are experiencing in viewing their sites. Believe me, webmasters
really appreciate feedback like this.
Another possibility , is that you are viewing a site during
peak hours when there is a surge of visitors to a site or number of users logged on to
your ISP. This is especially true on Saturdays in Segamat. Nothing you can do but hope
that your ISP increases bandwidth in your area during their next upgrade.
3) Line is busy
In the unlikely event you get this message then you need to contact your ISP (Jaring or
TMNet). It means that the nodes allocated to your area has all been utilised. You will
need to redial and hopefully get a connection when someone logs off.
