Parents unhappy over ‘unfair’ aid disbursement
MANY parents have voiced their dissatisfaction over the disbursement of educational aid given to the poor children in the Louis Estate Tamil School in Tenang, Labis, in Johor, Tamil Nesan reported.
An affected parent, P. Suppiah, 51, said that the school headmaster had ignored the poor children and had given the aid to children whose parents were not poor. Suppiah, who is a lorry driver without a permanent job, and his wife, a rubber tapper, have four children studying in the school and have not been given any aid.
Segamat Tamil Schools coordinator P. Manoharan said the headmasters had to fill up forms and submit to the district education office which would select the deserving students. He said that parents who were unhappy could come to the Segamat Education Department for further clarification.
