Job situation looking up
JOHOR BARU: Retrenchments in the state have dropped considerably. In fact, many employers are finding it hard to fill vacancies.
State Unity, Human Resource, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman M. Asojan said so far there had only been between one to six retrenchments a month. Last year, there was an average of 1,000 retrenchments every month.
Asojan said this at a press conference to publicise a job placement programme to be held today and tomorrow. He also said that 12 JobsMalaysia centres would be launched throughout the country this month, two of which would be in Johor – in Danga Bay, Johor Baru, and at the Perkeso Building in Segamat.
