Segamat aerial photo 1970s

This photo was sent to us by Michael Roy. Thank you. This is an aerial photo of Segamat during the 1970s. It shows the old part of town as the major commercial centre of Segamat. The new part of Segamat (Jln Sia Her Yam)  was not developed yet. You can see the padang on the left hand side of the photo. Now it is Dataran Merdeka without any football field left.

Segamat from the air

This is another view of Segamat with Segamat river clearly seen. Segamat was a booming town in th 70s, with timber being a major part of business and Segamat was on the main highway between Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

Please comment here on what you remember about Segamat during the 1970s.
